Proton rocket on the launch pad. On the top, covering the fairing, can be seen the thermal 'cover' which prevents the Integral spacecraft from becoming either too hot or too cold. This will be removed shortly before launch which is scheduled for 17 October 2002 from Baikonur in Kazakhstan.
