Space electronics for a heart

Every one of the 900 tiny components in the Carmat heart must function perfectly. Working closely with engineers from Astrium, the space subsidiary of EADS, the team used advanced modelling and digital simulation and developed new-generation test benches to perform thorough analysis, just as they would for satellites.
