New features for ESA’s matchmaking tool
ESA has created a new look and additional features on its matchmaking platform called esa-match for space businesses interested in finding partners and collaborators.
A new Dashboard, Calendar, rebranded Space Industry Directory, and Opportunities section are now available.
esa-match increases the visibility of European and Canadian space business entities thereby helping companies to team up, create partnerships and cooperate on new business. Currently, there are 12 900 Legal Entities and Business Units from ESA Member States, Associate States, Cooperating States and EU Member States on the system.
Part of esa-match is public and therefore accessible to users worldwide. Non-public Space Industry Directory Information and further functions, such as the B2B Area (formerly known as Lounge Area), are available in the internal part of the tool to companies registered with the Agency in esa-star Registration.
Calendar: Visitors can see ESA events in one place in the new ESA Calendar. It includes events such as procurement-related events, ESA conferences, industry events and industry days. By setting up notifications in the system, registered companies can be alerted as new events are added.
Dashboard: Those registered with ESA will be able to configure an esa-match Dashboard containing useful data on tender actions in open competition published since their last visit, Marketspace ads placed by their own company and by others, ongoing business-to-business (B2B) area conversations with other entities, views of their profile by other entities, number of ‘Favourites’ marked in the system, recently added items and much more. The dashboard allows users to customise their esa-match experience and create their own homepage view.
Opportunities: This new section provides users with access to the Tender Actions area, ESA Interacts, the new ‘Student Opportunities in Industry’ feature and the Marketspace. Users can now decide to release Marketspace ads not only in the internal, but also in the external part of the tool, making them visible publicly.
Student Opportunities in Industry: Here industry can advertise opportunities to the student community, related to internships, traineeships and thesis opportunities. The aim is to connect companies with students interested in a career in the space industry.
Users can access esa-match via the Doing Business with ESA portal. esa-match profile pages are generated automatically when companies register in esa-star Registration. Instructions on how to get started can be found in the esa-match training manuals. Training on the new features will run throughout 2023 on the ESA Learning hub.
Further updates to esa-match are expected in February 2023 and June 2023.
