The course fee contributes to the organisation and logistics of the course. Depending on the year, participants receive varied benefits and activities covered, such as transportation costs, gala dinners, museum visits, breakfast and/or lunch. Participants will be informed about specific modalities after their acceptance. Subject to the participant category, accommodation may also be covered.

Full time students citizens of or residing in ESA Member States, Associate Members and Cooperating States

For students under the age of 35 that have not completed a higher level education degree (LLM, Masters, etc) the course fee is 200 EUR, which will contribute to the accommodation, meals and other costs covered by ECSL.

Young professional applicants citizens of or residing in ESA Member States, Associate Members and Cooperating States

For young professionals under the age of 35 who have completed a higher study and are currently either junior working professionals or PhD students, there is a course fee of 600 EUR, which will contribute to the meals and other costs covered by ECSL.

Until 2019, a higher fee for young professionals was charged and accommodation was included. Since then, the ECSL Board has taken the decision to lower the course fee and leave it up to the young professional participants to cover their accommodation. Should you need support in choosing accommodation after being selected, a team of local tutors will try to support you (subject of availability).

Tutors

Tutors that do not reside in the host country receive the accommodation and transport free of charge as they are volunteering to help the organisers of the summer course. It is still obligatory to submit proof of insurance.

INSURANCE

All participants (including tutors)  must have valid health and travel insurance (including third party/civil liability) for the entire period of the Summer Course in order to be admitted. Participants are required to send ECSL written proof that they have a valid insurance prior to the start of the course. Any risks related will not be borne by ECSL or by the host university/institution.

With regard to medical coverage, participants are advised to obtain an E111 Form in their home countries or any other form needed to ensure medical coverage in Europe.
