ECSL Board
The ECSL Board is composed of Board Members, not more than 10, elected by the General Meeting of ECSL Members for a period of three years. Board Members stem from the different categories of the Centre's members (academics, practitioners, the Centre's operators, representatives from national administrations and agencies, from industry, as well as students).
The Board's functions are to oversee and assist in the running of the Centre, to propose themes for research or workshops, take steps necessary to achieve the aims of the Centre.
The Board shall elect among its members its Chair and a Vice-Chair by a majority vote of all its members. The ESA Representative to the ECSL Board (Article 1.1) will automatically be a member of the Board and will liase with the ESA Executive. This position is appointed by the ESA Director General and is not subject to a vote.
The Board will meet at least twice a year in principle at ESA headquarters or at any other place as decided by the Board. Members of the Board will support their own expenses.
A General Meeting of Members will be convened by the Chair of the Board every three years. The Board will present its report on activities for the past three years. The General Meeting will examine the orientation of the Centre's activities, as well as questions related to the future of the Centre. It will also elect the members of the Board.
A General Meeting may also be convened by the Chair of the Board at the request of one third of the members to deal with exceptional matters.
