(event fully booked)
Following the recent ESA Open Days at ESRIN and ESTEC, is now ESAC who is gearing up to welcome visitors to ESA's Spanish establishment on 21 October. Visitors of all ages, including students, young professionals, space enthusiasts and families with children, are getting ready to join the European Space Agency for a special event filled with discoveries, learning and fun.
A full programme of activities has been planned for that day. It will include activities based on ESA's programmes for scientific research and space exploration, showcasing how ESA contributes to improving human life on Earth. The event will feature tours, hands-on laboratories for children and get-togethers with science communicators, ESA astronauts and experts.
One of the featured guests will be Pablo Álvarez, a member of the new class of ESA astronauts, who will talk about his astronaut training. Visitors will be able to admire spacecraft and rocket models, explore ESA's cutting-edge laboratories and enjoy fantastic experiences. There will also be activities for children and discoveries to be made about icy moons and space debris. Thanks to Virtual Reality, visitors will have the chance to step into the future and put themselves in the shoes of an astronaut exploring the Universe. There will also be opportunities to observe the Sun through ESAC's telescope and visit the control room to learn how scientists and engineers operate space missions.
Please remember to bring your registration sheet and a valid ID to access the ESA site. For more information on the ESA Open Day programme at ESAC, please visit the Spanish page.
