This conference aims at gathering the wider scientific community to highlight SMOS achievements over land, ocean, cryosphere and most recently in space weather. In view of a possible extension of the SMOS mission up to 2028, this conference will also offer a unique and timely opportunity to discuss upcoming scientific challenges and future focus areas of SMOS.

The workshop is open to all those interested in the Spaceborne Imaging Spectroscopy including representatives from space agencies, scientists and applications experts active in the field of imaging spectroscopy for terrestrial and coastal applications. Building on the outcomes of the first and second editions, the main objective of this workshop is to strengthen international coordination, synergies among current and future missions and to establish priority areas for future projects and activities.

To foster the commercialisation of Earth observation space technologies and services and support the growth of space-related businesses and startups, ESA CommEO features dedicated events, workshops and networking opportunities to connect different stakeholders, providing information and insights on market trends, showcasing success stories and innovative solutions and offering platforms for pitching ideas and business plans to potential investors.
