Title
Report of MAGIC Science and Applications Workshop 2023

Summary
ESA and NASA have a long history of discussing satellite gravity constellation concepts within the Joint Programme Planning Group (JPPG), established by the two agencies to further cooperation in the field of Earth observation. The MAss Change and Geosciences International Constellation (MAGIC) is the jointly-developed concept for collaboration on a future satellite gravity constellation that addresses needs of the international user community.

During the JPPG meeting on June 2023, NASA and ESA decided to develop a joint science and applications plan related to MAGIC. The MAGIC Science and Applications Workshop 2023 was held on 2–3 November 2023 in Assisi, Italy. The workshop was attended by prospective users from the international community including scientists, stakeholders from (pre)operational services, commercial users, and representatives of industry and space agencies from all over the world. Overall, there were 120 registered participants with 82 oral and poster presentations from 15 different countries, while the event was also made available via a live broadcast online.

This report summarises workshop and highlights key topics related to the joint science and applications plan on MAGIC.
