The ISOCAM instrument of ESA's Infrared Space observatory (ISO produced this image, at a wavelength of 7 microns with a 6 arcsec per pixel field of view, of spiral galaxy M83. The spiral arms, containing the star-forming regions, are very prominent owing to emission from dust particles and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon (PAH) molecules.
