Astronaut James Newman (left) and Jerry Ross on the first of three spacewalks during the STS-88 mission, working on the Zarya and Unity (foreground) modules of the International Space Station. Newman is tethered, while Ross is anchored on the end of the Remote Manipulator System (RMS) arm.
