TeamSat was an ESA project involving Young Graduate Trainees at ESTEC. TeamSat (Technology, Science and Education Experiments Added to Maqsat) was an ad hoc response to the additional test launch of Ariane-502. The satellite was produced in the unprecedented short time of only 7 months from start (December 1996) to readiness (July 1997). Furthermore, costs were kept to a bare minimum (less than 1 million ECU) through the use of in-house equipment and spares, support from ESTEC staff and the free launch. One of the five experiments comprising the 350kg TeamSat payload was the Young Engineers' Satellite (YES) [Image Date: 02-11-97] [98.10.007-002]
