Space Bioreactor from ESA's Prodex Programme

ESA's Prodex Programme was established in 1986 to provide funding for the industrial development of scientific instruments and experiments in smaller member countries. Shown is the miniaturised Bioreactor, developed by Swiss company Mécanex SA for the Space Biology Group of the Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) in Zurich, for studying yeast cell culture under microgravity conditions.
