This image sequence of 8 visible images was taken in the South Atlantic. The Bouvet Islands (54S / 3E) are causing this gap in the westward drifting stratus clouds. In addition donwstream of the Islands a stationary wave pattern is visible which extents into the free atmosphare on the downwind side.
This sequence was observed on 27 March 2000. A sequence of eight visible images was taken (9.30 Z to 13.00 Z).
