The photo shows the intermediate orbits that Artemis was brought in by chemical propulsion (liquid apogee engine) and in red a band is shown which represents the spiralling out that Artemis will have to do using ion propulsion to get to geostationary orbit.
Some important ground stations are also shown.
Artemis, which stands for Advanced Relay Technology Mission, was launched on 12 July by an Ariane 5 launcher from Europe’s spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana.
