It's a bright August day over southern Finland in this Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (MERIS) image. On the south coast of Finland is the capitol Helsinki and on the opposite side of the Gulf of Finland is the Estonian capitol Tallinn.
West of Helsinki is the City of Turku, and further north up the coast Vassa. Observed on the image or the extensive lakes of central Finland, in particular the Paijanne and the Saimaa can be identified. In the Gulf of Bothnia we can see the Island of Aland, and across the gulf and into Sweden northern Stockholm can be seen partially covered by clouds.
