Central Pretoria seen by Spot 5

Pretoria Central, the central business district of the South African capital, as seen by France's Spot 5 satellite's High-Resolution Visible – Infrared (HRVIR) sensor. Looking in detail, individual shadows of high rise buildings can be seen. Note the blue of numerous swimming pools. To the right of Pretoria Central in its own gardens are located the distinctive sandstone and double-winged Union Buildings, the South African seat of government. Running through the image are ridges of the Witwatersberg and Magaliesberg mountain ranges.
