The magnetic fields of Earth and Venus

Animation showing one difference between Earth and Venus: in the first frames we see Earth's magnetic field, shielding it from the solar wind, and the second half we see Venus, a planet with no intrinsic magnetic field. Instead the planet is embedded in a local magnetic field induced by the solar wind itself, and perhaps local magnetism derived from the surface.
