This image of the T05 site on the EGIG (Expédition Glaciologique Internationale Groenland) line was captured by ESA’s Envisat on 2 May 2006 – the day before Dutch polar explorer Marc Cornelissen and students from the Climate Change College set up camp there.
The land mass (located along the central west coast) is snow-covered, while the Davis Strait and the Baffin Bay (which meet near the left middle of the image) are covered by ice.
