The Conical Adaptor Structure (CASE) for Ariane 5 ECA flight V172 being removed from its transport container. The CASE is mounted on top of the VEB structure to provide, at its upper interface, the Ariane standard diameter of 2624 mm, where the payload adaptor is fitted.
The integration was performed in the Launcher Integration Building (Bâtiment d'Intégration Lanceur - BIL) at Europe's Spaceport at Kourou in French Guiana on 20 June 2006.
