Go to topicSpace technology was used by Pescarolo Sport Le Mans racing team to improve performance and security. High-tech carbon composite materials for satellites used in the car’s chassis reduced the weight by 29 kg, thereby improving performance. Safety was improved by placing shields similar to those used on Europe’s Ariane launchers between the engine and the fuel tank, and to insulate the manifold and turbo thus reducing fire hazards.
