NASA’s Goldstone 70m antenna

This photograph shows NASA’s 70-m antenna at Goldstone (USA). NASA’s Deep Space Network has been used for more than 17 years of operations for the ESA/NASA Ulysses mission. The use of larger antennas such as that shown in this photo was needed as of February 2003, to compensate for the failure of the spacecraft’s main transmitter.
