Cosmonaut Vladimír Remek

Cosmonaut Vladimír Remek (born 26 September 1948) was the first Czechoslovak in space, and the first cosmonaut from a country other than the Soviet Union or the USA, and often considered to be the first European astronaut. He flew on board Soyuz 28 in 1978, for nearly eight days. He is now a member of the European Parliament.
