Balloon just before flight

The huge stratospheric balloon just before flight. The balloon carried a long-wave spectrometer, a thermal infrared imager and a small near-infrared spectrometer. The purpose of the campaign was to validate the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI) instrument currently operational on MetOp and to support the candidate Earth Explorer TRAQ mission.
