An ALOS Phased Array type L-band Synthetic Aperture Radar (PALSAR) interferogram over the Wenchuan earthquake that occurred along the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau in May 2008.
The white rectangle shows the main part of the deformation area, and the red rectangle shows the most heavily damaged area. No corrections have been made to this interferogram.
ESA is supporting ALOS (Advanced Land Observing Satellite) as a 'Third Party Mission', which means ESA utilizes its multi-mission European ground infrastructure and expertise to acquire, process and distribute data from the satellite to its wide user community.
