Communication and navigation via textile antenna

The demonstrator antenna attached to the jacket was developed by the Finnish Patria Aviation Oy company with support from ESA. The antenna makes two-way voice and data communication possible through the Iridium mobile system, and with GPS for receiving positional data. Iridium could also relay the position of the user to operational centres.
