Cosmonaut Ivan Bella (born 25 May 1964, in Brezno, Slovakia, formerly Czechoslovakia) was the first Slovak citizen to fly in space on Soyuz TM-29 in 1999. He participated in a nine-day joint Russian-French-Slovak mission to the Mir space station.
