Structural and Thermal Model (STM) of the Proba-V imager being prepared for testing. To match the 105° field of view provided by the current Vegetation sensor flown aboard the Spot-5 satellite, this much more compact imager relies on a combination of three imagers, each one having a 34° field of view. The three openings for these telescopes can be seen clearly here. The telescopes rely on mirrors built from aluminium. In addition, to minimise thermal deformation effects, the rest of the instrument is similarly constructed from aluminium. Note also the baffle for its startracker on the rear right.
