DFVLR Payload Specialist Ernst Messerschmid and NASA Payload Specialist Bonnie Dunbar during the STS-61A Spacelab D1 mission. The payload for this flight, Spacelab, was under operational management of the German space research institute, DFVLR, the fourth flight of the ESA-developed laboratory on the Space Shuttle.
