Merapi SO2 plume height and movement

The modelled movement of the Merapi sulphur dioxide (SO2) cloud between 4-14 November 2010 using FLEXPART, a particle dispersion model created by the Norwegian Institute for Air Research.

The upper graph shows the height of the cloud and the lower graph shows its spatial distribution. In this model, SO2 is used as a tracer for the volcanic ash.
