ESA's Dr Gerhard Schwehm, Giotto Deputy Project Scientist, at his console at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany, during the 'Night of the Comet' in March 1986. Dr Schwehm became Project Scientist for the second Giotto flyby, and later Project Scientist for ESA's Rosetta comet-chaser mission.
