Northern high resolution

This image was acquired by the Mars Express High-Resolution Stereo Camera on 17 May 2010 and shows a part of the northern polar region of Mars at the northern hemisphere summer solstice. Mars Express obtained this image during orbit 8160. It has a ground resolution of approximately 85 m per pixel, and was taken in the northern polar region at about 85°N/336°E. The image was derived from the nadir channel, which provides the highest detail of all the channels. South is to the left, north is to the right.
