EarthCARE viewing geometry

EarthCARE carries four instruments. The Atmospheric Lidar (ATLID) operates at a wavelength of 355 nm and has a high-spectral resolution receiver and depolarisation channel. The Cloud Profiling Radar (CPR) operates at 94GHz. The Multispectral Imager (MSI) has channels in the visible, near infrared, shortwave- and thermal infrared. The Broadband Radiometer (BBR) has one shortwave and one longwave channel with three fixed viewing directions pointing in fore-, nadir and aft-directions.
