Aeroplane meets transit

Observers at ESTEC witnessed a spectacular event during the Venus transit on 8 June 2004 – an aeroplane joined the planet in front of the Sun for a few fractions of a second. The image shows a still frame taken from a video recording of the Sun at 07h59m09s.
