Land use and land cover maps from 1978 (top), 1990 (middle) and 2005 (bottom) of a wetland area in northeastern Libya. The maps were created from Landsat data using the GlobWetland II observing system toolbox. Over the 27-year period, agriculture (in yellow) and urbanisation (in red) appear to be the main threats to the wetland area.
