Mapping the Moho

Map of the Mohorovičić discontinuity – known as Moho – based on data from the GOCE satellite and developed within ESA’s Support to Science Element programme. The Moho is the boundary between the crust and the mantle, ranging from about 70 km in depth in mountainous areas, like the Andes, to 10 km beneath the ocean floor.
