Threshing rice

A group of local farmers thresh rice in a paddy field near Boiram village, Gambia. The Participatory Integrated Watershed-Management Project (PIWAMP) has built dikes, roads and bridges in and around the lowlands swamp areas. Improved access to rice fields could reduce women’s travel times by at least two hours per day.
