Monitoring the Azraq wetland

Land use and land cover maps from 1975 (left), 1990 (middle) and 2005 (right) over the Azraq wetland in Jordan. The maps were created from Landsat data using the GlobWetland II Software Toolbox. The wetland (light purple) diminished by about 23 sq km over the 30-year period, while areas of permanently irrigated arable land (yellow) increased.
