Concordia in the dark

The Franco–Italian Concordia research base in Antarctica is a place of extremes, especially during the long dark winter. The environmental conditions are much like on Mars, so the station can be considered as a 'light' version of a base on the Red Planet. Two domes shelter 12 people against the forces of nature while they pursue scientific studies and test new technologies.
