The Ilyshin IL-76 Volga–Dnepr aircraft carrying the first Swarm satellite from Munich, Germany, landed in Plesetsk, Russia, on 17 September 2013. Along with the satellite, the aircraft brought containers of equipment that will be used to prepare the Swarm satellites for launch on 14 November. The remaining two Swarm satellites that form ESA’s magnetic field mission will arrive in the next few days.
