Rover demonstrated at Paranal

On the evening of Saturday 12 October 2013, ESA’s SAFER rover was taken up to Mount Paranal to demonstrate it to the staff of the European Southern Observatory manning Europe’s Very Large Telescope. They were also given the chance to teleoperate it themselves, as a thank-you for accommodating the SAFER team in the otherwise bleak Atacama Desert.
