The complete path the rover followed during the five-day test campaign in ‘SAFER Valley’ in the Atacama Desert. It went to the ‘pond’, made a U-turn around a big boulder, made a raster scan with the ground penetrating radar to look for subsurface features, and then traversed to its final location at the bottom right of the figure. Along this path it made many observations with its panoramic camera and its close-up imager as well as radar scans. The rover was commanded by the remote operators to drill in the pond as well as in the centre of the radar scan pattern.
