Spacelab elements

While often remembered today as simply a pressurised module, Spacelab was a reconfigurable system: either a ‘long’ or ‘short’ module could be combined with multiple pallets for hosting external experiments, including a pointing system for space telescopes or other instruments. The module itself incorporated a window for observation and scientific airlock for deploying payloads outside, while hosting dozens of experiments per flight.
