Moonrise from space
ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst captured the Moon rising over the South Pacific during his six-month Blue Dot mission on the International Space Station.
The Station’s solar wings on the left power the life-support systems and scientific experiments for the six astronauts living aboard humanity’s outpost in space.
