Southwest Germany

Southwest Germany is featured in this Sentinel-1A image. Lake Constance, which divides its 270 km shoreline between Germany, Austria and Switzerland, can be seen in the bottom right. The Swiss city of Basel is visible as a bright patch in the lower left with the Rhine River snaking through the city. The river then flows northwards through the Rhine Valley with the mountainous Black Forest to the right. Sentinel-1A captured this image on 10 May 2014 in its Interferometric Wide Swath mode and dual polarisation, from which the artificial colour composite was generated.
