Mission control coordinates rescue with Sarontar

ESA’s Integrated Applications Promotions programme has helped TeleConsult Austria to develop and validate the Sarontar system, short for Situational Awareness and Command & Control of Rescue Forces in Alpine Regions.

The system uses satellite communication and navigation data to provide mountain rescue teams and the coordination centre with the information they need in a fast, coordinated response to an emergency.
