Ed White spacewalk
During NASA’s Gemini 4 mission on 3 June 1965, Ed White became the first American to venture outside his spacecraft. The spacewalk lasted 23 minutes, with Ed using a hand-held oxygen gun to manoeuvre. His spacesuit visor is gold-plated to protect him from the unfiltered rays of the Sun.
