‘Elements’

Jan Westphal from Denmark captured this photograph on the Spanish island of Lanzarote in 2011. “You see four main elements in the picture: the ground (lava rocks), vegetation, the sea (water) and the sky (heaven),” Jan writes. “The sky and sea are an artistic composite revealing the 13 spectral bands from Sentinel-2's multispectral imager.”

This photo received an honourable mention in the Sentinel-2 ‘Colour vision’ photo competition.
