Pantelleria, Italy

Located in the Strait of Sicily, this volcanic Mediterranean island is known for its sweet Muscat wine made from Zibibbo grapes. The alberello or ‘small tree’ cultivation technique used to grow these grapes was recently inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage list. This image was acquired by the Deimos-2 satellite on 4 February 2015.
