Modelon simulations for safer cars

Simulation libraries from Modelon, a start-up hosted at ESA’s Business Incubation Centre in Bavaria, Germany, are being used by a growing number of auto manufacturers seeking to improve car safety. Here, a Volvo is bedecked with sensors for a test drive to compare the performance against Modelon simulations in avoiding accidents, a system originally developed to optimise satellite development.
