Passover Earth

ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti took this picture of Earth from the International Space Station in 2015 during her Futura mission.

She commented via Twitter: "Best wishes from space for a beautiful and peaceful Passover on Earth. When do we eat?"

The faint outline of the atmosphere is visible in green. This is all that protects us from the vacuum of space.
